Apatia & Ital (2017)

Two performances and sound installation

Apatia & Ital (Apatia & ziv) was a collaboration between Finnish artist Ari-Pekka Leinonen and Serbian artists Luka Knežević-Strika and Jelena Milic. The work consisted from a performance and a sound installation from Leinonen and happening organised by the trio.

The work revolves around a fictitious nation state called Totuus, where everything is so well organised that it is for the sake of individual reputation and economical sustainability idiotic to question the public opinion. Two singing-wood-headed-foreigners have escaped the public opinion of Totuus and are now sitting on the floor of Ostavinska. They can't wear the mask of ignorance anymore and can't do more what makes them happy. They are depressed. The climate of thought was oppressing in Totuus. Their wooden limbs are paralysed, their ears and eyes are closed. All they can do is to sing away the apathy to be able hear new songs.

The happening that concluded the exhibition was circulating around Kosava wind. The trio organised warming up event against the wind where a poet, two human singers and Gusle music improvisation tried to fight against apathy.
