Apatia & Ital

Two performances and sound installation

Apatia & Ital (Apatia & ziv) was a collaboration between Finnish artist Ari-Pekka Leinonen and Serbian artists Luka Knežević Strika and Jelena Milic. The work consisted from performance and sound installation from Leinonen and happening organised by the trio.

The work revolves around a fictitious nation state called Totuus, where everything is so well organised that it is for the sake of individual reputation and economical balance idiotic to question the public opinion. These two singing wood headed foreigners have escaped the public opinion of Totuus. They can't wear the mask of ignorance anymore and do more what makes them happy. They are depressed. The climate of thought was oppressing in Totuus. Their wooden limbs are paralysed, their ears and eyes are closed. All they can do is sing away the apathy to be able hear new songs.
